Carter has practiced yoga for over 20 years and found his passion for teaching in 2007 after making his first feature documentary film “ONE” where he spent three years with some of the worlds greatest spiritual teachers, authors and icons (Deepak Chopera, Ram Das, Robert Thurman, Ken Wilber and Thich Nhat Hanh). He learned the classic eight-limbed path of ashtanga by legendary yogini Beryl Bender Birch. Since then he has assisted and worked with Wade Imre Morissette traveling around the country doing workshops, events and retreats. he has taken this experience and infused it with traditional asana allowing space for self exploration and focusing on body awareness. he teaches a variety of styles ranging from hatha, vinyasa, yin and restorative. He’s a Michigan native, an artist, writer and an independent filmmaker and has made Ann Arbor his home since 2012.
